I’m pretty proud of myself. I was trying to purchase Safe Eyes today and I started guessing at coupon codes to get one to work. I actually got one. So if you are looking to save a little cash on the Safe Eyes internet filter software, you can use this coupon code: XJHG1296AK (see note below)
I tested it, and it only seems to work for purchases of the software…not for upgrades. So if you already have the software and need a coupon code to upgrade Safe Eyes, you’re out of luck I guess. But if you’re just now buying, I just saved you some cash.
You’re welcome.
Note: The original coupon from 2006 is no longer valid, but I did find out that you can use the coupon code SAFETY to get 10% off. Just enter “SAFETY” (without the quotes) when you are buying Safe Eyes.

Techanically u can sue them. they are taking your MAC (Media Access Code) and using that to block websites. I once got rid of the program from my mac with a program called Appzap but it only removed the log in app and when i tried to get onto the internet it said to log in. Unless you can change you MAC address (which you would need to get a new network system for your computer) to get it off your ass
First of all the iphone app cost $20 and its only a seperate internet browser for the iphone so to get around that you simply use the safari app.
PS: there is no way at all (execpt for the youtube app) for an ipod to play any video files
This is my forth year running tring to get around it
APOCHPHTEN still works for $10 off! SWEET!!! Thanks!
As of today, no coupon codes I found will work with a 2-year renewal. No huge deal, as the 2-year renewal already has a slight discount over the 1-year.
To all the youngsters complaining about SE… why hate the program? It’s just doing its job. Why hate the programmers? The program is doing what it’s designed to do, so they did their job right too.
So, who’s that leave, your parents for installing it? Well, THINK for once, rather than just lash out: why would your parents install a program that YOU say ‘ruins your life’? Could it POSSIBLY be that, in the decades they’ve lived before you were born, they’ve learned a thing or two? They’re wise to something, and I’ll tell you what that is.
It’s HELL.
In case you didn’t notice, this world is really a pit nowadays- murder, war, political and corporate greed and theft, economic hardship… why does all this stuff sound familiar? Crack open a Bible (you know, that dusty old book that sits unused on your shelf) and turn to Revelation. You don’t need horror flicks or sci fi when you’ve got the real deal. It’s the end-of-game story, and you’d be wise to read up to learn how it all plays out. It’s the one time that turning to the last chapter ISN’T cheating, it’s WINNING.
Sad to say, but when Jesus left, he promised to come back, but in the meantime, this world is under the control of Satan. So, if your folks know this and DON’T do anything to protect you, how are they good parents in any way? If you were going to cross the street and didn’t see a truck bearing down on you, and they did, wouldn’t you want them to save you, or at least try?
THAT’S what SafeEyes is for.
SO, you can’t hate your parents either, they’re just doing their jobs, too. BE THANKFUL that they LOVE you enough to protect you from evil! TELL your folks, “Mom, Dad, I had no idea how bad this stuff was, thanks for protecting me.”
As for the internet, I’ll relate it to you tech-savvy ones like this: you know what a TSR is, right? Stands for Terminate, Stay Resident. It’s a program that runs and completes, but then remains on the hard drive, forever, until you format it.
Well, the crap on the internet is much like that. You CANNOT “unsee” some things, they’ll be with you forever, trapped in your brain… and let me tell you, it’s a bit like being haunted. Some days I wish I could format my brain and start over, but that doesn’t come until later, when He calls me home.
SO- rather than being angry and petulant and selfish, THANK Safe Eyes, THANK its creators, and THANK your parents, from saving YOU from an evil you can’t even conceive or perceive!
First off: I would like to extend many thank yous to every “teenager” that has commented here. Thanks to kids like you we (yes, I am 17)get no respect, people treat us like 4 year olds and programs like this are invented. So meanwhile, kids like me who are actually responsible (most of the time, and just to clarify, the reason I [used to have] this program on my computer is because my parents think facebook is satanic. Literally). And learn to write. Reading your comments is like simultaneously listening to a 13 year old girl chat with her friends and watching Carlos Mencia. Your IQ drops about 10 points every 5 minutes.
But anywho, for those trying to get around it: Use your brains. Windows incorporates “certain security features” that enable it to remove any and all programs (i’m not going to say how, because then the guy on the blog will probably delete it). The best part? Safe Eyes can’t do a thing about this, as long as microsoft includes it in their OS, due to not only violating the EULA, but many other agreements between Microsoft, the developer and the Consumer. This would completely shatter the thin legal ice they already stand on. Vista is required to really get the job done though…
And to most of the parents: Maybe you guys should crack open a bible once in a while (you know, that dusty thing on the shelf you pretend to know everything about). The bible never actually says anything about governing or controlling, or doing stuff like this. The analogy most associated with parenting is actually teaching. As a parent it is your job to guide, teach, help, and offer counsel once your child reaches the age of accountability (Most agree on 8-9, even my epic-protective parents say 13). Not to control, make choices or decide their own path. 90% you telling them not to do something by now just makes them do it. So do your biblical duty and try to help them mature adults, and not stunt their growth by protecting them from everything and deciding how they should act. If you have done your job when they were younger you should have (almost) no problems at this age. Now to address Safe Eyes specifically: When you put this program on your child’s computer you are effectively sweeping the dirt under the rug. The root cause of your child’s visiting these so called “bad” sites is still there. If you cannot convince your child to not visit these sights then you are either really bad at persuasion or have all the wrong reasons. And then beyond that, if your child won’t do it out of respect for you, then you have other, major problems. And most probably somewhat your fault, too.
i found a way to bypass it for mac. It works for around 5 minutes, and you can use any site you want. NO offense to anybody, but safe eyes just makes things worse by having the kid crave what he wants to go on…anyone can just go to a friends’ house and do the same
What the Crap! I want to go to my Facebook account but my dad installed this SafeEyes Thingy and i cant get on! Why?<<<<<<<<<<< IS there a way to find out the admin password and Username? If so, please let me know~~
No way that I’ve found to ‘crack’ the admin UN/PW. Why not ask your dad to ‘allow’ Facebook, or ask him to explain why he won’t if he doesn’t. With any luck and a decent counterargument (something more than “because all my friends are on there”), you might be able to convince him to allow it.
I HATE SAFE EYES! IM 14 FOR PETE;S SAKE!!!!!! i cant even get on freaking utube!!!!!!!! i hate this crap!!!! is there any way to get around it??!!??!?!? it wdnt let me evn go 2 google images to do my history report!!!!!! IT WAS A STUPID HISTORY REPRT! ugh i hate safe eyes dnt torture ur kids parents HAVE MERCY!!!!!! dips stupid unbelievable freakin crap

I agree that it is great that SafeEyes at least does it’s job and takes some serious brains to hack, and all of the immature children who are blaming SAFEEYES for this need to quit ranting. However, theres still the problem that it seems this is also the most overused and abused/misused program I’ve seen. Seriously, its fine when you install SafeEyes for your kid’s computer when you don’t trust him (which is, don’t deny it parents, a message that is coming out when you install such a program) because he constantly searches inappropriate things but lets face it: There are two types of dangers on the Internet: 1) Inappropriate websites 2) Viruses, worms, and other malicious software/spyware. SafeEyes does not block the latter so to those parents who think that SafeEyes is going to throw a shield up and protect their kids from any harm, you have no clue what you are talking about. Inappropriate content is all over the internet but unless your kid is REALLY looking for it, then you have NOTHING to worry about. Thats what parents don’t get. No kid is going to just find the jackpot of Porn or sick Violence unless they tend to visit sites containing that material. Those parents who think that the Internet is dangerous enough that without Safeeyes, their kid would be seeing such sites 24/7, then you clearly don’t trust your children to not look up such material and I blame your parenting skills for such a poor excuse of “being extra careful”.
Look, I know every one wants to protect their children and any program that does such is a blessing, but your really overdoing it when you throw an internet program on your kid’s computer instead of actually raising your kid correctly by teaching him/her not to visit the sites, and then install SafeEyes only if it becomes a problem. But the thing about Safeeyes is the fact that it governs EVERY thing you do, including all conversations the child has, giving them no privacy. Thats not protecting the kid, that’s hanging over their shoulder and watching their every move which is a serious violation of privacy and provokes anger in child-parent relationships. Then theres the fact that SafeEyes blocks way too much. It has blocked websites for Pornography and Sex. Thats Fine. But then it blocks a website for having “Games/Auction” and “Entertainment”. Seriously? That’s bullshit and any 16 year old kid should be able to go on more sites than I’ve seen safe eyes allow.
Overall, its fine to install SafeEyes if your just using it to block Pornography or if your kid needs a web filter because he has a history of going on bad sites (which you obviously need to talk to him about before you just throw in the towel and spend $10 a month on this). But when parents use thinking it’s just some kind of giant upgrade to the kid’s internet and try to control the child’s life, that’s practically tyranny. Now do you see why teens get so mad at this product? Not because it blocks their precious R rated sites, but because it is way too controlling and it provides almost no wiggle room in addition to parents misusing it completely.
Hello,
I’m signing up with Safe eyes for the first time and its not so much for my kids as they are only 4 and 2. Its protection for myself and my wife. I don’t want to accidentally land on a porn or adult content site nor do I want to fall to temptation and choose such a site.
Young people, don’t look at your parents as goons who are stiffling you but rather those who are there to protect you. There is a lot of filth on the net that we all need protection from.
Gregory
sure-just turn 21 and then you will want to keep safeeyes.
Safe eyes is very annoying. I’m 15, and even though I have a way around it (on mac) it is just a hassle, as the bypass only lasts about 5 minutes. I can’t even look at Google images on safe-search for school projects. I can’t watch movies online, and no matter what I do, Safe Eyes freezes everything if I so much as go on the internet, and is “not responding” until I restart the comp. Safe eyes kills all life, and at school when I do ppts, it randomly pops up on the projector, much to my chagrin, even though I am already signed in. I will not post my way around it, as my comment will most likely be deleted.
oh yeah, and the funny thing, is it’s MY mac. I’m the admin, but Safe Eyes overrules EVERYTHING.
Oh, and it blackmails you. I went on youtube, and it said DENIED: PORNOGRAPHY
Come on. Everything is porn in Safe Eyes’ eyes. It even sent my dad to a porn site, even though I hadn’t done anything at all.
I have viewed porn on every porn blocking software I have ever tried (addicted to porn), but based on the comments I’ve read, I think I’m going to give Safe Eyes a try.
Hello ML,
I would certainly give Safe eyes a try. As far as the porn, I have never been addicted to it but I understand it can be very hard addiction to overcome. If it was me I would try a faith based program like Reformers Unanimous (RU). Good luck!
Gregory
1) The code from Kimmy in April, APOCHPHTEN, still works.
2) Thanks Gregory. And I will look into RU.
3) I downloaded Safe Eyes and gave it a thorough testing, and was only able to get through to porn once in about 150 tries. So it is not perfect, but it is much better than anything else I’ve tried.
RRRRRRRR I HATE SAFE EYES IL TRACK DOWN THE CREATOR OF IT AND DRAIN HIM OF HIS BLOOD AND LEAVE THE BOODY IN MY PARENTS CLOSET
Safe eyes didn’t ruin your life..unless your life is on the computer, which would just be sad.
Theres still sites out there that arent blocked if you look for a little bit
safe eyes cant block every site I was mad at first but now idc cause i get what i want lol
Safe eyes pretty much needs to die. End of story.
Good idea with the whole “throwing the inventor down a well” thing. I’ll gladly help.
ZEIG6275RD still works for 10 off safe eyes!! thanks!
RRRR!!! I HATE IT TOO!!! U CANT GET ON FACEBOOK, MYSPACE, OR ANYTHING FUN!!!WHY SHOULD GAME SITES BE BLOCKED?DO MY PARENTS NOT TRUST ME?!>!I M SO MAD!!!
To the very wise 17 year old who posted 2009, look back about 10 years from now when you have a kid and you will no doubt be amused at what you wrote. Don’t feel bad though, most of us would have felt the same way as teens. But as any parent knows, Christian or otherwise, it is part of raising children, as you point out, to teach- but of course also to model appropriate living. This isn’t only about controlling what your kids see, it’s about using wisdom to control what you as the adult sees, which is why SafeEyes is installed for my own benefit. I want to be held accountable by my wife and family, and do want to avoid having images that take away my love and admiration for them displayed on the screen inadvertently.
safe eyes is the worst thing imaginable. i cant get on any website i want. i need a life dad, need to talk to my friends! facebook.. cant get on. ICHAT , cant either, not even google images. HE BLOCKED MY ITUNES STORE! MUSIC IS MY LIFE.
I HATE SAFE EYES
To all those teens complaining,
Have a conversation with your parents about adding the sites you want (youtube, facebook, itunes, etc) and you will see that they can add these to the list of allowed sites. The program is in place to protect you from the tempation of visiting adult web sites (and you know you’d do it too!)
