More Neighbor Stuff

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I find this to be rather entertaining.  I guess that’s good, because if I didn’t, I’d end up beating my idiot neighbor to a bloody pulp.

Yesterday was the court date set for the neighbor’s grass length violation.  This morning he was still not in compliance with the county’s ordinance.  I called the Department of Public Safety (again) and filed a second complaint against him.  I feel certain that they’ll immediately issue another ticket since he’s had over a month to get it right.

So, Bernard, if you’re reading this, you’d better get out there and start mowing.  Soon.

PMBC Podcast

I’ve wanted to know how podcasts work for some time now, but I’ve never needed to know. With me, if there’s something I don’t need to know, I never learn it. Knowing this, I decided to start a podcast for my church’s sermon audio. It’s been going strong about a month now, and I’ve learned a lot about the technology (it really isn’t that hard).

It’s online at www.pmbcpodcast.com if you want to check it out. It’s also listed in the iTunes podcast directory, so you can subscribe that way if you feel so inclined.

My main problem now is that I need a way to make updating the podcast an easier task. If you have some podcast publishing tool that you just can’t live without, let me know. Otherwise, I’ll dust off my php notes and see what I can come up with.

A New Kitchen

I’ve been scarce for a few days while we’ve been painting our kitchen. Mom took the kids to her house earlier this week, and we’ve been working every night on the new kitchen. We finished the work late last night and have to do the cleanup part today. It actually looks pretty good. Sure, I’m biased, but I’d say we did a good job of picking out colors. And by “we” I mean not me.

I got a new microwave for the kitchen, but it’s not installed yet. That’ll have to wait until I can get more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep at a time. Maybe that’ll happen tomorrow after I cut the grass.

Oh, speaking of grass, my idiot neighbor had somebody out mowing that jungle behind his house yesterday. They didn’t finish (yet), but I’m glad to see it’s finally getting mowed. On the other hand, if it’s not cut by the 13th, I can call the county and they’ll issue another ticket for ordinance violation.

666?

Today is 6/6/06. I just think that’s cool since it probably won’t happen again in my lifetime. At least I hope not.

I’d make a comment about how today is a good target date for some terrorist attack, but then I’d have to plan to get into predictions of rapture on July 7 of next year. And I don’t really want to get into that.

Caedmon’s Call - Atlanta 06/04/06

I guess this is partially a review of the Caedmon’s Call concert last night down in Atlanta. I say partially because I don’t have a full set list to post. They played a great set, by which I mean mostly old stuff (including several from “Share the Well”). Call me crazy, but I think “Share the Well” is one of their best. I know Geof agrees, so I’m probably right.

One highlight: Andy and Danielle played “I Did Not Catch Her Name” for the first time live. It was amazing. It was partially amazing because they are 2 amazing vocalists and sound great together. And it was partially amazing because of the truths that Randall Goodgame put in that song. That has got to be one of my favorite Goodgame songs of all time.

Andy Osenga leaked (announced?) that he will be playing a CD release show on June 20 in Nashville. Matthew Perryman Jones will be opening, playing with a full band. Osenga will also be playing with a full band, and according to Andy, “much rock will be had.”
