iPod Vending Machine

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

In a mall last week, my wife and I saw this:

iPod Vending Machine

This vending machine was full of iPod accessories, and it even had iPods you could buy.  Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think I’d buy an iPod from a machine.  Would you?

There’s one of these in the Atlanta airport as well (I spend way too much time there).

Yeah, but maybe every once in awhile it will give you two for the price of one!

I think an iPod would be an excellent choice for a prize in that game where dad manipulates a crane arm to win a prize (usually a stuffed animal) for the kids. That hard part of winning would be explaining to the crying kids why daddy might have to keep said iPod for himself.

By the way, I finally jumped on the iPod bandwagon. I settled for an iPod nano, which seems fine for now. It updates really quickly and compared to a packet of six CDs, like I’m used to in my car, it’s a dream. The ear bud headphones stink. They are way too fat for my ears. That’s the only part that sucks. Do they do that on purpose so you will invest in headphones with smaller ear buds?

I would buy ear buds out of a mall vending machine. Fer sure.

One problem with the iPod in the vending machine…don’t you need to load it with your own music to make it useful? I would think if you’re buying it at the airport, you probably don’t have your computer and all your music with you–else, why are you buying an iPod?

As for headphones, Curt, check these out. They take a bit of getting used to because they are semi in-the-ear, but they have three different size rubber “boots” and they sound REALLY good. I haven’t found a better sounding set of buds for that price.

What I want to know is who walks buy a vending machines and says to him or herself, “Yeah, I can lay down about $300 right about now.” And then after I find that person I say “What do you do for a living and how can I do that?”

maybe just 1 person out of 100,000 will buy an Ipod in the airport. Still is a good shot if that amount of people walks by the airport every two days… and vending machines don-t get paid so the profit should be pretty decent for mrApplepie…
