Neighbor Update
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Without taking too much pleasure in another person’s frustrating circumstances (Richard), I wanted to post a quick update on my neighbor. You will recall that he had someone mow his front yard and half of his back yard, but he never had them finish the back yard. As of this morning when I left for work, he had still not cut it.
Last week I saw him putting a gas can into his car (as if he would be taking it to get gas) and had hoped it meant he would be mowing soon. Apparently he was using it for some other purpose, because there has still been no grass mowed.
Next Monday is the date he either has to go to court or pay the fine for his 2nd ticket. Tuesday morning, if he still hasn’t had it mowed, he will have to go to court (and won’t have the option of just paying a fine).
Does anybody know what the county can do to you if you refuse to mow your lawn? Do they just keep raising the fine, or can they do something more severe? Not that I hope anything like that happens (Richard)…I was just wondering. ![]()

I hope this isn’t intruding, but I saw on my site meter a visit to my blog from the referral on Andy O’s blog post, “motion.” It said the visitor was from Georgia so I looked to see if anyone from Georgia commented on his post as well. I noticed that the guy who’s comment I copied but substituted “seattle” for “atlanta” was from Georgia! So I thought I’d check out “his” website! And I must say. I find your posts to be quite enjoyable!
So, I’m not sure if it was you who checked my blog, … but that’s my explanation of why I’m here and why I’m commenting. I do like your blog. And the look is very nice.
There you go!
Peace,
Tony Kevin

Hi Tony,
It was me. I saw you copy my comment, so I had to check you out.
Thanks for stopping by. The web site is WordPress with the theme China Red (or something like that), with a few hacks by me. I’d love to take fully credit, but kind people who give software away had more to do with the look & feel of the site than I did.

They can probably put a lien on his house. Meaing that he will not be able to sell it until he statisfies the fines. And the fines will just keep stacking up. I would guess that after so long they can arrest him too. What happens if you do not pay your car fines and let them build up. I would assume this is handled the same way.

He mowed the lawn. It looks terrible, but it’s been cut. He’s in the clear for a couple of weeks. If it grows back up again, I’ll end up calling the county again.
Hopefully he has realized that mowing the lawn won’t actually kill you, and he’ll start doing it more regularly.
