Things I get to do this weekend:
- Celebrate my boy’s 3rd birthday
- Eat at my parents’ church’s annual picnic
- Groan about how much I ate at said picnic
- Consider a replacement for the 92 Explorer that has been so faithful to me for the past 3 years. She’s got some issues that may not be worth dealing with. We’ll see…

ahem, don’t you know it’s considered improper/insensitive nowadays to refer to inanimate objects as “she”? i was rebuffed years ago in a college history essay-exam for referencing a British vessel as “she”. ah, the wonders of revisionist history. keep ‘em coming.

My Explorer is female. And all the feminists out there that don’t like me calling her “her” can demonstrate their disapproval by standing in the road in front of her.
And, Shane, no thanks. My Explorer is old, but at least she hasn’t been beaten mercilessly for the past 3 years. The fact that your Explorer isn’t dead on the shoulder of a road somewhere is nothing short of divine intervention.
